La Resina Golf & Country Club occupies a quiet residential enclave in Guadalmina Alta, one of the more exclusive addresses along the western stretch of the Costa del Sol. The club sits in the foothills above the coast, away from the busier resort corridors of central Marbella, giving it a more secluded, members-oriented character than many of its neighbors. The surrounding urbanización blends Mediterranean pines and mature gardens into the layout, lending the course a lush, almost parkland feel that contrasts with the browner, more exposed links-style terrain you find closer to the shore.
The Costa del Sol's golf scene is among the densest in Europe — Valderrama, San Roque, and the Aloha and Los Naranjos clubs are all within reasonable driving distance — so La Resina competes in genuinely distinguished company. As a private club it caters to resident members and property owners in the area, offering a more personal, unhurried round than the high-traffic resort courses that define much of the region's golfing economy.
Visitors to the area are likely to find the western Marbella corridor, stretching toward Estepona and the Sotogrande municipalities, the most consistently playable stretch of golf on the coast — mild winters, reliable sunshine, and a concentration of well-maintained layouts make it a legitimate year-round destination for serious club golfers.
