Few public courses in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex have built the kind of loyal local following that Texas Star has earned over the years. The course occupies a rolling, wooded tract that feels genuinely removed from the suburban sprawl pressing in around Euless, and that sense of separation is a big part of its appeal. Designed by Jeff Brauer and opened in 1990, it quickly established itself as one of the stronger daily-fee options in a region crowded with competition, drawing players from across the mid-cities corridor who want something more demanding and atmospheric than a typical municipal round.
Brauer gave the layout real variety — creek crossings, elevation changes, and tree-lined corridors that reward shot-shaping and penalize carelessness. The par-71 configuration feels intentional rather than arbitrary, with a rhythm that keeps you thinking from the first tee through the closing holes.
Euless sits squarely in the heart of the Metroplex, sandwiched between Dallas and Fort Worth, meaning Texas Star is genuinely convenient for a wide range of players. Summers run brutally hot, so early morning tee times are practically a local tradition from June through August.
