High Elms occupies a stretch of the North Downs in the London Borough of Bromley, sitting close to the village of Downe — a name most visitors associate with Down House, where Charles Darwin lived and worked for 40 years. That proximity gives the place an unlikely intellectual footnote, but the course itself earns attention on its own terms.
