Maharashtra's golf culture has long been anchored in Pune's colonial-era clubs and Mumbai's storied layouts, but Oxford Country Club represents a more contemporary chapter in the region's golfing story. The course sits within the Mulshi area west of Pune, a landscape defined by the rolling hills of the Western Ghats, seasonal monsoon green, and the reservoir that gives the valley much of its scenic character. Playing here means contending with terrain that doesn't flatten out for anyone — elevation changes are real, and the views across the surrounding hills reward patience as much as good ball-striking.
As a private members' club, Oxford operates with a quieter, more exclusive rhythm than Pune's busier resort-style venues. Access is through membership or guest introduction, so the rounds tend to feel unhurried and the course well-maintained for those who do get on it.
The Mulshi belt has become one of the more desirable addresses in greater Pune, and the club reflects that — a retreat for members who want their golf removed from the city's noise, set against one of Maharashtra's genuinely beautiful inland landscapes.
