Gary Player's fingerprints are all over River Falls Plantation, which he designed in the rolling Piedmont of upstate South Carolina. Opened in the early 1990s, the course was built around the Enoree River watershed, meaning water comes into play on a meaningful stretch of holes — not as a gimmick, but as a genuine strategic element woven into the routing. Player's signature emphasis on course management over raw power is evident throughout: the design rewards players who think before they swing.
Duncan sits in Spartanburg County, a corner of South Carolina that doesn't get the coastal fanfare of Hilton Head or Myrtle Beach but offers its own distinct golf character — wooded terrain, gentle elevation changes, and a more four-seasons climate than the lowcountry.
