Few settings in Norwegian golf are quite as dramatic as this one. Sauda sits at the innermost tip of Saudasfjorden, one of the long, narrow arms that reach deep into the Rogaland highlands from the Boknafjord system. The course is a compact layout suited to the valley floor it occupies, and conditions are shaped heavily by the surrounding terrain — sheltered from coastal winds but subject to the sharp weather changes that funneled fjord valleys can produce almost without warning.
