Olive Branch sits in the northwest corner of Mississippi, close enough to Memphis that it functions almost as the Tennessee city's southern suburb — and the Memphis metro's appetite for golf has long sustained a robust cluster of courses on both sides of the state line. The DeSoto County corridor in particular has developed into a genuine destination for mid-South golfers looking for a round away from the city's more trafficked layouts.
Timber Truss Golf Club draws its name from the heavy timber-frame construction style that characterizes much of the rural South — a detail that hints at a design sensibility rooted in the wooded, rolling landscape of northern Mississippi. That terrain, a transition zone between the flat Delta to the west and the piney hills to the east, gives courses in this pocket of the state a natural variety that flatter ground can't offer.
Without a published competitive history to point to, Timber Truss reads as a serious member-and-guest club serving a fast-growing community that takes its golf earnestly — a reliable local track rather than a touring stop, but no less worth the drive.
