Few courses in Quebec have earned the kind of reverence that Le Diamant commands. Designed by Graham Cooke and opened in 2000 as part of the Golf Le Maître complex in Mirabel, it sits alongside its sibling course Le Maître and together they form one of the most serious golf destinations in the province. Le Diamant was conceived as the more demanding of the pair — a layout that rewards precision and strategic thinking over raw power, with tight corridors, firm conditions when the greens are running well, and a routing that makes full use of the rolling terrain north of Montreal.
Mirabel sits roughly 45 minutes from downtown Montreal in the lower Laurentians, a region where the land begins its gradual push toward the shield country further north. The summers here are warm and relatively short, which keeps the course in peak condition from late May through September — a concentrated season that gives each round a certain urgency.
For golfers visiting from out of province or making the drive from the city, Le Diamant offers a genuine test with a polished, resort-quality feel — the kind of course that sits comfortably at the top of any Montreal-area itinerary.
