Few golf settings in the Alps reward the eye quite like this one. Golf Club Eppan sits in the heart of the South Tyrolean wine road — the Strada del Vino — where terraced vineyards climb the hillsides above Appiano and the Dolomites define the eastern horizon. The club occupies a landscape that produces some of northern Italy's most celebrated whites, Pinot Grigio and Gewürztraminer among them, and that agricultural richness shapes the course's character: fairways that wind between working vines, with fruit orchards and the occasional farmstead as backdrops rather than decorative filler.
South Tyrol's dual identity — officially Italian, culturally and linguistically closer to Austria — gives Eppan an unhurried, central European club atmosphere that distinguishes it from courses further south. The altitude keeps summer temperatures comfortable, and the light in this valley has a particular clarity that makes the mountain panoramas feel almost theatrical.
As a regional members' course serving a prosperous, golf-minded community, Eppan is well maintained and taken seriously locally, offering visiting golfers a genuinely immersive taste of alpine viticulture alongside their round.
