Few private clubs in Florida generate the kind of quiet reverence that The Old Collier Golf Club commands among those fortunate enough to play it. Designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 2001, the course was carved through the wetlands and preserves of southwest Florida with an almost surgical sensitivity to the natural environment — a rarity in a state where developers historically flattened whatever stood in the way. The routing weaves through native cypress, pine flatwoods, and freshwater marshes, making it feel less like a constructed golf course and more like a walk through preserved Florida wilderness.
The result is widely regarded as one of Fazio's finest works and consistently ranks among the top courses in the state, with some national rankings placing it among the best in the country. The terrain demands strategic thinking rather than brute force, with fairways that bend around wetland carries and greens that reward precise, thoughtful approaches.
Naples itself is one of Florida's wealthiest enclaves, and Old Collier reflects that standard — an intensely private, immaculately maintained club where exclusivity and ecological respect coexist in uncommon balance.
