Few places in the world offer a golf backdrop quite like Akranes. Positioned on a peninsula where the Hvalfjörður and Faxaflói Bay converge on Iceland's west coast, this small industrial town — historically defined by fishing and a cement factory — looks directly across the water toward Reykjavík and the dramatic outline of Mount Esja.
