Perstorps Golfklubb sits in the northern reaches of Skåne, Sweden's southernmost province, in a part of the county that trades the flat agricultural plains near the coast for something more varied and wooded. Perstorp itself is a small industrial town, perhaps best known as the birthplace of Formica and home to a major chemical industry — an unlikely backdrop for golf, but the surrounding landscape of rolling forest and open farmland makes for a genuine course setting rather than an artificial one.
Skåne has developed one of Sweden's most active regional golf cultures, with a high concentration of clubs relative to population and a season that stretches longer than almost anywhere else in the country thanks to the moderating influence of the sea. Courses in the northern interior of the province tend to play through mixed terrain — tree-lined corridors, gentle elevation changes, heathland-influenced turf — which rewards local knowledge.
As a member-oriented club serving a smaller community, Perstorps GK represents the backbone of Swedish golf: accessible, unpretentious, and embedded in the everyday sporting life of the town around it.
