Headwaters Golf Course

Three Forks sits at one of the more geographically striking addresses in the American West — the confluence of the Gallatin, Madison, and Jefferson rivers, where Lewis and Clark camped in 1805 and named the spot the headwaters of the Missouri. A golf course carrying that name isn't being poetic; it's standing on genuinely storied ground, and the wide-open Montana sky and braided river valleys that surround this stretch of the Gallatin Valley give the setting a scale that's hard to overstate.

The course itself is a full 18-hole, par-72 layout — the kind of community anchor that serves a small town well, offering everyday access to a game that in this part of Montana competes with fly-fishing, hiking, and just about everything else the landscape invites you to do instead.

Three Forks is 30 miles west of Bozeman, close enough to benefit from the university town's energy and growing population, but far enough to feel unhurried. Playing here is as much about being somewhere as it is about the golf itself.
