老爺關西高爾夫球場 sits in the rolling inland hills of Hsinchu County, roughly an hour's drive southwest of Taipei in the Guanxi township — a quiet agricultural corner of northern Taiwan known for its persimmon farms and traditional Hakka settlements. The course is part of the Hotel Royal Chiaohsi group's broader resort operation, and the layout takes full advantage of the terrain: fairways move through forested hillside valleys, elevation changes are genuine rather than cosmetic, and the natural contours of the land do much of the work that a flatter design would leave to the architect alone.
Hsinchu County has a reasonably active private golf culture, and courses in this inland zone tend to offer a different feel from the coastal or metropolitan layouts closer to Taipei — quieter, more scenic, and noticeably cooler in the summer months when the humidity that smothers the capital is softened by the hills.
As a resort-affiliated facility, the course caters to both leisure travelers and regular members, with a level of service and conditioning that reflects the Hotel Royal brand's hospitality standards. The combination of varied terrain and managed presentation makes it a solid full-day destination for visitors to the region.
