Few stretches of coastal New South Wales reward the travelling golfer quite like the Eurobodalla Coast, and Narooma Golf Club sits at its heart — literally perched above the Pacific on a headland that turns a round of golf into something closer to a walking meditation. Inlet, ocean, and the iconic arch of Montague Island sit in view from much of the course, making it one of the more scenically arresting layouts in regional Australia.
The terrain here does the heavy lifting architecturally. The headland's natural contours create elevation changes, sea breezes that shift through the afternoon, and lies that keep even straightforward holes honest. This is not a course that announces itself with length or difficulty so much as with relentless, distracting beauty — and that beauty has a habit of costing shots.
Narooma itself is a small, unhurried town about 4 hours south of Sydney, popular with anglers, whale watchers, and those escaping the city for the slower rhythms of the Sapphire Coast. The golf club fits that spirit perfectly.
