Peace River sits at the confluence of the Heart and Smoky rivers with the Peace River itself, deep in northern Alberta where the boreal forest presses in and the growing season runs stubbornly short. It's a part of the province that most southern Albertans think of as remote, and by most measures it is — which makes the presence of a full 18-hole club here something worth noting. The Peace River valley carves dramatic elevation changes through otherwise flat agricultural country, and any course built along its banks or bluffs has terrain to work with that most prairie layouts can only wish for.
Mighty Peace Golf Club carries a name that earns its weight. The Peace River drainage is one of Canada's great northern waterways, and the surrounding landscape has a scale and wildness that tends to shape how golf feels when you're playing it.
