Few golf clubs carry their history as visibly as Newton Green, where the course wraps around and across an ancient Suffolk village green — one of the largest in England. At par 69 the layout is compact rather than epic, but playing across common land introduces unpredictabilities no architect would dare design in. It rewards local knowledge and a tidy short game.
