Few golf clubs in the Catskills carry the historical weight of the Onteora Club. Founded in the late 19th century as part of a broader artistic and intellectual colony, Onteora was a summer gathering place for writers, painters, and prominent figures of the Gilded Age — Mark Twain among the most famous to pass through.
