Few American resort courses carry the reputation Blackwolf Run does. Designed by Pete Dye and opened in 1988, it sits on the grounds of the American Club in Kohler, Wisconsin — one of the Midwest's most celebrated golf destinations. The River Course here famously hosted the 1998 U.S. Women's Open, where Se Ri Pak's iconic barefoot shot from the water became one of the most memorable moments in women's major championship history. Dye carved both the River and Meadow Valleys courses through the glacially sculpted terrain along the Sheboygan River, deploying his signature railroad ties, severe bunkering, and greens that reward precision over power.

Blackwolf Run plays as seriously as it looks. The River Course in particular consistently ranks among the toughest resort tests in the country, demanding shot-shaping, course management, and a certain comfort with consequence. This is destination golf with real teeth.
