San Domenico Golf sits in the Itria Valley of Puglia, one of southern Italy's most quietly spectacular landscapes — a plateau of ancient olive groves, dry-stone walls, and the iconic whitewashed trulli houses that have defined this territory for centuries. The course occupies the grounds of a historic masseria, the fortified farmhouse estates that are the architectural soul of the region, and that setting alone separates it from almost anything else in European golf.
The design works with the natural rhythms of the land rather than against them, routing holes through mature olive trees that are not decorative props but living monuments, some centuries old. That sense of permanence gives the course an atmosphere that manicured resort layouts rarely achieve — you are playing through a working agricultural landscape with deep roots.
Fasano sits roughly midway between Bari and Brindisi, close enough to both for easy arrival but far enough inland to feel genuinely removed. Puglia's mild winters make this a serious year-round destination, and San Domenico has earned a strong reputation among discerning travelers who come for the food, the architecture, and — less advertised but equally rewarding — the golf.
