Few courses in the Dallas–Fort Worth area make a bolder design statement than The Tribute Golf Links. Built along the eastern shore of Lewisville Lake, the course is a deliberate homage to the great links courses of Scotland and Ireland, with individual holes modeled after famous originals — Troon's Postage Stamp, Carnoustie's Barry Burn, and others — transplanted onto the North Texas prairie. The result is something genuinely unusual: a landlocked links that earns its name rather than merely borrowing it.
The Colony sits in Denton County, part of the sprawling suburban growth north of Dallas, and the site's lake exposure gives the layout a windswept openness rarely found in this part of Texas. The fescue-style rough, pot bunkers, and undulating terrain are far removed from the manicured Bermuda you'd expect in the region, and the wind off Lewisville Lake can make any given hole play very differently than the yardage suggests.
This is a public facility, meaning the links experience here is genuinely accessible — no membership required to play holes styled after some of golf's most revered originals.
