Cana Bay Golf Course

Punta Cana's eastern tip is where the Dominican Republic meets the open Atlantic, and Cana Bay Golf Course sits within that coastal corridor — a landscape defined by trade winds, swaying palms, and the kind of vivid blue horizon that makes it hard to keep your eyes on the ball. Designed by Rees Jones and opened in 2014, the course occupies a dramatic stretch of coastline where several holes play directly alongside Caribbean and Atlantic waters, giving it an exposure and visual drama that few resort courses in the region can match.

Jones shaped the layout to work with the natural terrain rather than impose on it, routing holes through mangroves, over wetlands, and along clifftop edges where the wind becomes a genuine factor in club selection. The result feels less manicured than many neighboring resort tracks and more rooted in the land itself.

Punta Cana is the Dominican Republic's primary resort destination, and the golf here competes in a crowded field — but Cana Bay's raw coastal setting and the Jones pedigree give it a distinct identity among the area's better-known layouts.
