Millcroft Golf and Country Club

Millcroft Golf and Country Club occupies a setting that's genuinely unusual for suburban Ontario — the course was carved through the Millcroft residential community in Burlington and opened in 1990, routing holes among and between the homes of the neighbourhood in a way that gives it a surprisingly intimate, parkland character. The layout was designed by Rene Muylaert, and while it will never be confused with a wilderness retreat, the mature trees, creek corridors, and rolling terrain give it considerably more visual interest than most courses sharing space with a subdivision.

Burlington sits at the western end of Lake Ontario, where the Niagara Escarpment begins its rise inland, and the region has a mild microclimate that supports a long playing season by Canadian standards. The local golf market is competitive, with several strong private clubs in the greater Hamilton–Burlington corridor.

As a private members' club, Millcroft trades on community and consistency — a place where members know the quirks of every fairway and the names behind the low-gross plaques in the clubhouse.
