North Salt Lake sits on the eastern bench of the Great Salt Lake valley, where the Wasatch Front rises sharply behind you and the valley floor spreads west toward one of the most otherworldly landscapes in American geography. Eaglewood GC occupies this elevated terrain, and that positioning is arguably its defining feature — the views across the valley toward the Oquirrh Mountains are the kind that stop mid-swing thoughts cold, and the high-desert air at altitude means the ball carries noticeably farther than golfers from lower elevations expect.
The Wasatch Front has developed a genuine and underappreciated golf culture, with courses scattered along the benches and foothills that frame Salt Lake City. Eaglewood's location on the north end of that corridor gives it a slightly removed, quieter feel than the busier resort and daily-fee tracks closer to the city center.
At par 71, the routing likely leans on shorter, more strategic holes rather than pure length — a design philosophy that rewards shot-making and course management over raw power, which tends to suit the terrain and topography of Utah's hillside layouts well.
