Summitpointe was a fixture of Silicon Valley golf for decades before rebranding as Bay View GC, and the name change hints at something real — on clear days, the elevated terrain of this Milpitas layout opens up to sweeping views across the South Bay, with the waters of San Francisco Bay visible in the distance. Few municipal courses in the region offer that kind of visual payoff.
Milpitas sits at the southern end of the Bay and the northern edge of San Jose, where the flat valley floor rises quickly into the Diablo Range foothills. The course occupies that transition zone, which means uneven lies, shifting elevations, and wind patterns that can change your club selection dramatically from morning to afternoon. The surrounding hills give the layout a terrain that distinguishes it from the flatter valley-floor tracks nearby.
