CampoReal Lisboa sits on a hillside estate in Turcifal, in the Torres Vedras municipality north of Lisbon — a stretch of the Estremadura coast best known historically for the Lines of Torres Vedras, Wellington's famous defensive fortifications from the Peninsular War. The Dolce Hotels & Resorts flag signals this is resort-integrated golf, part of a broader property offering conference facilities and leisure amenities alongside the course. The layout occupies rolling agricultural terrain typical of this corner of Oeste wine country, where vineyards, olive groves, and cork oak punctuate the landscape.
The course was designed by Rui Rebelo and opened in the late 1990s, conceived to complement the resort's ambitions as a business and leisure destination within an hour's drive of Lisbon's center. The routing takes advantage of natural elevation changes across the hillside, with longer holes demanding accurate tee shots to avoid the slopes working against the player.
Torres Vedras and the broader Oeste region don't carry the golfing prestige of the Algarve, but that's part of the appeal — this is relaxed, accessible golf in an underplayed corner of Portugal, with the capital comfortably close and Atlantic breezes keeping the course playable year-round.
