Seaside sits at the northern end of the Oregon Coast, where the Coast Range meets the Pacific and the weather arrives with little warning. This is a town built around the beach — the western terminus of the Lewis and Clark Trail, a place of salt air, fog, and the kind of persistent wind that turns a straightforward iron shot into a genuine decision. Golf here is inseparable from that environment.
The course itself is a public layout serving a small coastal community, which in Oregon tends to mean something honest and unpretentious — the kind of place where locals play in light rain without a second thought and visitors figure out quickly that soft conditions and variable wind demand more creativity than brute force. A par 72 offers the full range of holes, and on the coast, that variety gets tested differently depending on which direction the wind has chosen that day.
The Oregon Coast golf scene rewards flexibility. Tee times are rarely scarce, dress codes are relaxed, and the scenery does a lot of the talking.
