Poděbrady has been one of Central Bohemia's most distinctive golf addresses since the club's founding in the early 20th century, making it among the oldest golf venues in what is now the Czech Republic. The course occupies the grounds surrounding the town's famous spa park, where the curative mineral springs that put Poděbrady on the European map for centuries create a landscape unlike almost anything else in Czech golf — flat, parkland terrain threaded through avenues of mature trees, with an unhurried, old-world atmosphere that feels closer to a Central European sanatorium garden than a conventional fairway layout.
The town itself sits on the Elbe river east of Prague, long known as a health resort drawing visitors from across the continent. That spa-town character permeates the golf experience: rounds here feel leisurely and civilized, the kind of golf that rewards walking and conversation as much as scoring.
For visiting players, Poděbrady offers a genuinely historical round — accessible enough for mid-handicappers yet layered with enough mature tree-lined character to keep better players honest with their irons and course management.
