Coco Beach Golf & Country Club sits on the northeastern coast of Puerto Rico, where the Atlantic-facing terrain of Río Grande delivers some of the most dramatic golf scenery in the Caribbean. The club is home to 2 championship courses — the Tournament Course and the Lakes Course — both designed by Bruce Besse and opened in the early 2000s as part of the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar resort development. The Tournament Course earned its name legitimately: it served as the longtime host of the Puerto Rico Open, a PGA Tour event that brought professional golf back to the island and gave the course genuine international exposure. Trade winds off the Atlantic are a constant, invisible hazard that no scorecard can capture.
The surrounding landscape is defined by the lush, mountainous interior of El Yunque rainforest pressing up against the coastline, giving the property an unusually lush backdrop for a seaside layout. Expect dense tropical vegetation, water features, and elevation shifts that reward local knowledge.
As a private, members-only club within a resort destination, Coco Beach carries a dual identity — polished resort infrastructure alongside the exclusivity and pace of a genuine country club setting on one of the Caribbean's most celebrated stretches of golfing coastline.
