Golf de Brest Iroise

Few parts of France feel as geographically distinct as Finistère — literally "the end of the earth" — and Golf de Brest Iroise leans into that identity fully. Set near the village of La Martyre in the Breton interior, the course sits roughly 20 kilometers east of Brest, where the Atlantic influence is constant: expect wind, shifting light, and that particular coolness that rolls in off the Iroise Sea even on summer days. The surrounding bocage landscape — hedgerows, stone walls, soft rolling farmland — gives the course a firmly rooted sense of place that distinguishes it from resort-style tracks farther south.

The course plays through mature, varied terrain and has a reputation as one of the more serious tests in Brittany, rewarding patient course management over power. The layout uses the natural undulations of the land rather than fighting them, which gives each round a genuine feel of discovery.
