Sussex Inlet Golf Club sits on the south coast of New South Wales, about 2 hours south of Sydney, in one of the quieter corners of the Shoalhaven region. The inlet itself — a tidal waterway connecting St Georges Basin to the sea — shapes the character of the whole town, and that coastal estuarine landscape filters through to the golf course as well. Expect flat to gently undulating terrain, native scrub, and the kind of relaxed, unhurried atmosphere that defines golf along this stretch of coast.
The club is a community-focused operation serving a town that swells considerably during school holidays and long weekends, when Sydney families make the run south. Like many regional clubs along the South Coast, it functions as a social hub as much as a sporting facility, and the welcome for visitors reflects that.
The South Coast golf corridor — running through Nowra, Ulladulla, and beyond — offers genuine variety for traveling golfers, and Sussex Inlet fits naturally into that picture as an accessible, unpretentious round in a setting that rewards anyone who takes the time to get this far off the highway.
