Stensballegård Golf is built on the grounds of a historic Danish manor estate — the kind of setting that gives a course genuine character before a single hole is played. The Stensballegård estate, situated just outside Horsens in the eastern Jutland region, lends the layout a distinctly pastoral, old-world atmosphere, with the manor house itself forming a natural focal point around which the course unfolds across rolling farmland and mature woodland.
Horsens sits on the Horsens Fjord, a deeply indented inlet of the Kattegat, and the surrounding landscape of gentle hills, beech forest, and open Danish countryside shapes the course's personality. Eastern Jutland enjoys a milder climate than much of Denmark, and the combination of inland terrain and coastal proximity creates playing conditions that shift noticeably through the season — soft and lush in spring, firmer and faster come summer.
For visiting golfers, this is a club that represents the Danish provincial golf experience at its most agreeable: well-maintained, unhurried, and rooted in a genuine sense of place rather than manufactured resort spectacle.
