Carson sits in the Wind River Valley, where the Columbia River Gorge gives way to the foothills of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. It's a genuinely dramatic corner of southwest Washington — dense Douglas fir and western red cedar, volcanic ridgelines courtesy of Mount St. Helens country, and a climate that keeps the landscape lush and green well into the summer. Golf courses here earn their character from the land rather than from design ambition, and the terrain does most of the talking.
