Radium Hot Springs sits at the convergence of the Rocky Mountains and the Columbia Valley, where the Purcell and Rocky Mountain ranges frame nearly every shot on this course. The town itself is best known as the gateway to Kootenay National Park, and the golf here shares that sense of dramatic, open-sky landscape — big views, clean mountain air, and terrain shaped by glacial forces rather than a bulldozer's whim.
The Columbia Valley corridor has quietly developed into one of British Columbia's more compelling golf destinations, with several courses strung along the valley taking advantage of the relatively dry, sunny microclimate that sets this pocket of the Rockies apart from wetter coastal conditions. For a mountain course, the playing season is reasonably generous, and the low humidity keeps conditions firm and fast by Canadian standards.
A par-72 layout suggests a full, traditional test — room for long par 5s that play with the valley's natural contours and short par 3s where elevation changes can make club selection genuinely puzzling. This is scenic golf in a setting that earns the scenery honestly.
