Mölndal sits just south of Gothenburg, Sweden's second city, in a landscape where granite bedrock pushes through thin soil and mixed Scandinavian forest closes in around fairways with a quiet authority. Hills Golf Club, which operates the Valley Course, is one of the more established clubs in the greater Gothenburg area — a region that punches well above its weight in Swedish golf, with a strong tradition of well-maintained parkland and heathland layouts shaped around the natural contours of the Västra Götaland terrain.
The Valley Course plays to its name, routing holes through lower ground where the land folds and water features come into play more readily than on the club's hillier offerings. That topography creates a different rhythm than you'd find on an exposed links — shots demand attention to position, and the tree-lined corridors tend to reward a controlled, thinking game over raw power.
Gothenburg's maritime climate means the course holds playable conditions for a long portion of the Scandinavian season, and the club draws a loyal local membership alongside visiting golfers making the short trip from the city.
