Few Scottish links demand as much respect from the wind as Leven Links, one of the oldest and most historically significant courses on the Fife coast. Golf has been played here since at least the 18th century, and Leven holds a special place in the game's administrative history — the Leven Golfing Society, founded in 1820, was among the first clubs to codify the rules of match play. The links shares its eastern boundary with Lundin Links, and the two courses interweave across the same stretch of linksland in a way that feels genuinely old-world, a relic of how golf once occupied shared common ground.
The course itself runs along the northern shore of the Firth of Forth, with the Lomond Hills visible inland and the open water defining the mood and the wind direction on any given day. Burn crossings, tight fairways, and firm, fast turf reward low, running golf over the high-ball aerial game most modern courses encourage.
Leven is a working links in the truest sense — no resort frills, no manufactured drama. It has hosted final qualifying for The Open Championship on multiple occasions, which tells you everything about the quality and authenticity of what you'll find here.
