Sundsta Säteri Golf sits on the grounds of a historic Swedish säteri — a noble estate — in Norrtälje municipality, roughly 70 kilometres north of Stockholm along the shores of the Roslagen coast. The course takes its identity directly from the landscape: the säteri tradition in Sweden produced some of the most architecturally distinguished rural estates in the country, and playing here means moving through that heritage, with manor buildings, mature hardwood forests, and open agricultural land all shaping the character of the round.
Norrtälje is the gateway to Roslagen, an archipelago region where the forest meets the Baltic in a patchwork of inlets, islands, and farmland. The terrain here is typically varied — gently rolling, with natural water features and stands of birch and oak that reward accurate shotmaking over raw power. The summer season is short but vivid, with long Scandinavian daylight hours making evening rounds genuinely atmospheric.
As a course rooted in an estate setting, Sundsta Säteri offers a quieter, more contemplative round than the major Stockholm-region facilities. Golfers drawn to courses with a sense of place — where history is underfoot as much as underclub — will find that character here.
