Golf in the Matapédia Valley doesn't announce itself — it earns your attention quietly, through the kind of unhurried, unpretentious experience that defines the region. Amqui sits in the heart of this river valley in eastern Quebec, where the Matapédia River winds between forested ridges and the Chic-Choc Mountains frame the horizon. It's a landscape built for golf that breathes rather than performs.
Revermont is a par-72 layout that almost certainly reflects this terrain rather than fights it — the kind of course where the land itself sets the character, and where locals play with the ease of people who have come to know every slope and seasonal shift. Quebec's rural golf culture tends toward the welcoming and the genuine, and a club like this one, in a town the size of Amqui, almost by definition belongs to its community first.
The Gaspésie region draws visitors for its wilderness, its salmon rivers, and its dramatic scenery. A round at Revermont offers a version of that same immersion, just at a different pace and on foot.
