Deer Ridge Golf Club

Deer Ridge Golf Club sits in Richland County, in the rolling hill country of north-central Ohio where the land starts its gradual rise toward the Allegheny Plateau. Bellville itself is a small town at the edge of the Mohican region — an area better known for its state forests, gorges, and canoe liveries than for major golf destinations, but that geography translates directly to a course with natural elevation change and wooded character that flatter, more agrarian corners of Ohio simply can't offer.

The Mohican country tends to produce courses that reward straight driving, where errant shots find timber and slopes that turn a manageable miss into a genuine recovery problem. A par 72 layout in this terrain is unlikely to be a pushover, and the landscape itself does much of the architectural work.
