Boulder City occupies a peculiar and appealing corner of the Mojave Desert — a small, unhurried town that was essentially built by the federal government to house workers constructing Hoover Dam in the 1930s, and which retains an old-fashioned civic calm that separates it sharply from the Las Vegas sprawl just 25 miles to the northwest. It's one of the only municipalities in Nevada that prohibits casino gambling, which gives it a character unlike anywhere else in the state.
Desert Hawk Coyote Run sits within that landscape of creosote flats, red and tan rock formations, and the wide desert sky that defines this corner of the Colorado River basin. Desert golf at this elevation and latitude plays firm and fast — the ball flies, the ground runs, and reading how shots will release across sun-baked turf becomes part of the puzzle.
The name itself signals what kind of round to expect: something rooted in the terrain rather than imposed upon it, with the wildlife and open desert horizon as constant company.
