Haarlemmermeersche Golfclub

Few golf clubs in the Netherlands carry as much historical weight as Haarlemmermeersche. Founded in 1930, it is one of the older private clubs in the country, and its location in the polder landscape of the Haarlemmermeer — the vast agricultural plain reclaimed from a lake in the 19th century by the famous Cruquius steam pumping station — gives it a distinctly Dutch character. The land is flat, open, and exposed, shaped by drainage channels and windbreaks rather than natural elevation, which means the course plays very differently depending on the wind.
