Few clubs in Scandinavia carry the architectural pedigree of Hills Golf & Country Club. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and opened in 1994, and it has since established itself as one of Sweden's most respected private layouts — regularly appearing near the top of Swedish course rankings and widely regarded as the premier design in the Gothenburg region.
RTJ Jr.'s signature is all over the routing: bold shaping, demanding approach angles, water hazards deployed strategically rather than gratuitously, and greens complexes that reward precise ball-striking and punish anything that leaks to the wrong side. The parkland terrain rolls through mature woodland just south of Gothenburg, giving the course a sense of seclusion despite sitting close to one of Sweden's largest cities.
Mölndal itself borders Gothenburg's southern edge, and Hills draws a membership that reflects the commercial and cultural weight of the wider city. For visiting golfers fortunate enough to arrange a guest round, it offers the full private-club experience — well-conditioned turf, serious golf, and a course that genuinely demands your attention from the first hole to the last.
