Mallard Head Country Club has been a cornerstone of the Mooresville golf community for decades, occupying a site where the rolling Piedmont terrain gives the layout natural elevation changes and character that a purely flat design could never replicate. The course plays through mature hardwoods and open fairways in the manner of a traditional Carolina country club — one that rewards local knowledge and rewards members who invest the time to learn its subtleties.
Mooresville sits in southern Iredell County, a town that has grown considerably with the NASCAR industry's presence in the region, yet still retains the unhurried feel of the Carolina foothills. Lake Norman, one of the largest man-made lakes in the Southeast, lies just to the south and shapes the broader landscape here — lush, green, and humid in summer, with mild enough winters to keep the membership playing most of the year.
As a private club, Mallard Head offers its members something harder to quantify than a course rating: a consistent home course, a community, and the kind of familiarity that turns a round of golf into something genuinely personal.
