Pineywoods Louisiana doesn't get much golf tourism press, but the communities scattered across this part of Beauregard and Allen parishes have long supported a quiet, homegrown golf culture — and Cajun Pine Golf Club is very much a product of that world. Branch is a small town in southwest Louisiana, and a course bearing the name "Cajun Pine" telegraphs exactly what you're in for: a layout carved through the region's characteristic longleaf and loblolly pine forests, where the trees do the heavy lifting as natural definition and the air carries that particular resinous stillness you only find deep in the Southern piney woods.
This is the kind of golf that sustains a local community — a place where the same faces show up on Saturday mornings, where a par 72 layout gives everyday players room to work through their game without pretension.
Southwest Louisiana's terrain is relatively flat, and the surrounding pine stands likely shape the strategic character here more than elevation change. Expect tight corridors off the tee and a premium on keeping the ball in play.
