Paphos, on the island's southwestern coast, is the region most associated with golf in Cyprus, and Secret Valley sits in a dramatic natural setting inland from the coast, carved through a rocky valley that gives the course its name and its character. The terrain here is genuinely rugged — exposed limestone outcroppings, sloping topography, and the kind of wild, sun-baked scenery that feels nothing like a manufactured resort layout.
Playing golf in Paphos means contending with firm, fast conditions for much of the year, and courses in this corner of Cyprus tend to reward ground-game thinking over aerial heroics. The valley setting at Secret Valley provides natural elevation change and framing that many flatter resort tracks simply cannot replicate.
Cyprus golf is a winter-sun destination for much of its European clientele, and Paphos in particular draws visitors looking to escape colder northern climates between October and April. A round here is as much about the surrounding landscape — the Troodos foothills visible in the distance, the Mediterranean shimmering nearby — as it is about the scorecard.
