The Finger Lakes region of western New York earns its name from the long, glacially carved lakes that define the landscape — and the rolling, vine-covered hills surrounding Naples sit at the southern tip of Canandaigua Lake, one of the most scenic corners of that territory. This is wine country, orchard country, and genuinely hilly country, where elevation changes come naturally and the terrain rarely lets a golf course get away with anything flat.
Reservoir Creek almost certainly takes its name from a water feature running through the property, and in a landscape this topographically busy, water and elevation are the 2 forces that shape everything. A par 71 layout in these hills tends to reward course management over raw power — the land does the work, and players who fight it usually pay.
Naples itself is a small town with an authentic, unhurried character, and a round here would feel far removed from resort-style golf. This is the kind of course where locals know every break and visitors leave wishing they'd booked a second tee time.
