Few stretches of European coastline have attracted as much golf investment as the Costa del Sol, and Marbella sits at its glamorous center. The area's golf boom began in earnest in the 1960s and has never really stopped, leaving the hills and valleys between the Sierra Blanca and the Mediterranean dense with courses ranging from grand resort layouts to quieter, more functional tracks built for the residents and expats who actually live here year-round.
Tramores Golf is one of the latter — a shorter, more compact layout that serves the local golfing community rather than chasing tournament credentials or headline rankings. Courses of this type in the Marbella area tend to offer genuine value and a relaxed atmosphere, free from the pomp that surrounds some of the region's more celebrated addresses. The surrounding landscape is typically Andalusian: dry scrub, Mediterranean pine, and the kind of clear winter light that explains why northern Europeans have been relocating here for decades.
Expect warm, dry conditions for most of the year, with the mild winters making Tramores a genuinely year-round option in a region that trades heavily on exactly that promise.
