Harker's Hollow Golf Club sits in Phillipsburg, a small Warren County city perched on the western edge of New Jersey where the Lehigh River meets the Delaware. Cross the river and you're in Easton, Pennsylvania — this is the Lehigh Valley borderland, a corridor of rolling hills, old industrial towns, and surprisingly good golf that tends to fly under the radar compared to the better-known layouts farther south in the Delaware Valley.
A par 70 layout signals a design built around precision rather than power. Shorter par 4s and a reduced par count typically reward players who think their way around a course, placing a premium on shot shaping and course management over simply gripping and ripping. The terrain in this part of New Jersey — wooded ridges, uneven ground, and elevation changes carved by river valleys — has a way of turning a modest yardage into a genuine test.
Warren County's golf scene is unpretentious and community-oriented, the kind of region where the game is played for the right reasons. Harker's Hollow fits that character.
