Few resort courses occupy a setting quite like this one. Iberostar Cancun sits within the Iberostar Selection Cancun hotel complex along the famous Zona Hotelera, the narrow barrier island strip that separates the Caribbean Sea from Laguna Nichupté. That geography gives the course something most resort layouts can only promise — genuine tropical water presence on multiple sides, with the lagoon threading through play and the warm Caribbean light hitting differently here than anywhere in the continental golf world.
The Yucatán Peninsula's flat limestone terrain means the design works with water and vegetation rather than elevation change. Expect mangroves, tropical hardwoods, and the ever-present Caribbean breeze to do the work that hills do elsewhere — shaping club selection and demanding accuracy off the tee. The course is maintained to resort standards and caters to the full spectrum of guests, from serious players squeezing in a round between beach days to destination golfers who planned the trip around the tee time.
Cancún itself is hardly a hidden corner of Mexican golf, but the convenience here is real — world-class Caribbean vacation infrastructure wrapped around a legitimate 18-hole experience.
