Founded in the postwar golf boom that swept Japan in the late 1950s and early 1960s, the club operates 2 distinct courses — the Toyooka Course here in Iruma and the separate Musashi Course — catering to a membership that has long reflected the corporate and industrial elite of the Kanto region. The Toyooka Course occupies the rolling, wooded terrain of western Saitama Prefecture, where the foothills of the Okutama ranges begin to assert themselves and the flat Kanto plain gives way to something with genuine topographical character.
